If you relegate magick to pure self-improvement, self-modification, and self-interest, you’ve missed the mark so many before you have left in plain sight. Magick is and will always be a communal matter. If only between a sorcerer and their client, so be it, but people need people to get by. It’s not a newage (rhymes with sewage) metaphor, it’s a fact. We know it’s tempting to strike out on your own with no one to answer to for anything you get into, but this is one fight worth your time and energy.

Attempts to define the relation of magic to religion have formed part of the modern study of religion since its inception at the end of the 19th century. J. G. Frazer argued for a complete separation of the two: religion is oriented towards transcendental beings (gods, spirits, etc.), but the magician "supplicates no higher power: he sues the favor of no fickle and wayward being.... He can wield his power only as he strictly conforms to the rules of his art, or to what may be called the laws of nature by him."

Now, we usually would say this about religion because it is religion which necessitates the lauding of the impoverished to fund its veritable Muppet Show of liturgical infotainment albeit a poorly executed one that lacks the climactic ascension that the general public is persuaded by in these hurried times we live in.

E. Durkheim accepted the radical distinction between magic and religion, claiming that religion is a communal matter (indeed, it is society being itself in externalized form), whereas magic is an affair between a practitioner and a client: the magician has clients but no congregation. This division was contested by M. Mauss (A General Theory of Magic, 1902), who insisted that magic is a social phenomenon, making use of available power in a variety of different ways.

So, it might not be in our best interest to define magick as the stuff of popular attraction, even though at the time of writing, the occult is seeing a massive resurgence in interest among the general public. You can find books and curios on sale at the local $5 store (Five Below, etc.), catering to this sentiment of curiosity about self-empowered spirituality. However, we hesitate to put such trends on the shelf with magickal activity regarding sorcery, shamanry, ritual, astral, and high magick.

Since it is evident that magic is not always or automatically successful, [Malinowski] maintained that magic must be understood primarily as a matter of psychology: magic operates in areas where knowledge or technology is wanting, and by isolating hidden forces at work, it thereby offers psychological relief -- such-and-such a situation is beyond human competence. This was in strong contrast to the view of E. Evans-Pritchard (Witchcraft, Magic and Oracles among the Azande, 1937), who held that magic belonged to an interactive world in which it is possible to ask questions which a Westerner would not ask. Thus, the Azande are interested in 'cause-and-effect', but also ask why events have happened to one person rather than another: magic is a means of interrogation as well as of finding answers.

So, as of the early 20th century, it seems the jury is still deliberating the groupthink that has spawned some of the legendary orders and societies we dish about in the late 20th and early 21st century. But this is not a strictly magickal article that we type to you today. We want to remind the solitary practitioner that magick and politics have always gone hand in hand. They are cut from the same cloth as it were, and even in the case of anti-apotheosis non-congenial style nemesis magickians, they still get involved in the political spectrum from time to time, lending their silver tongues, wit, logic, and their black belts in rhetorical adversarialism to the fight. Let’s face it, those nemesis magickians on the Left are “know-it-all assholes” to quote one young man on the TikTok viral video circuit who knows his people intimately.

More recently, this view has been developed further, seeing magic as embedded in religion, where it acts as an organization of context and meaning. Thus for Mary Douglas (Purity and Danger, 1966), magic offers the framing of experience in a local context; and for Susanne Langer (Philosophy in a New Key, 1964) "magic is not a method but a language: it is part and parcel of that greater phenomenon, ritual, which is the language of religion; ritual is a symbolic transformation of experiences that no other medium can adequately express."

So, suppose you’re one of those apolitical types who feel that the media has implanted all of our ideas into our heads and given us our opinions in spoon-fed portions to divide us. In that case, you can skip the rest of the article because our treatment of the subject would only mildly amuse you and Hades forbid put some derivative ideas in your brain.

In this perspective, magic offers the transformation of circumstances without guaranteeing effects: one consequence or its opposite will still be a demonstration that magic 'works', because it confirms the entire context in which a person lives.

You should swallow a 7.62mm slug ejected from a rifle in the hands of a widowed, childless Palestinian father whose wife and children were assassinated by your IDF storm troopers just for breathing the same air. If the IDF wants to round up Hamas, why don’t they ask the Mossad where they keep their assets? It's a zero-sum game simulation where only evil wins.

Everyone is well aware that Hamas was commissioned by Israeli intelligence. They inserted them into the Arab populace to root out their leaders and activists and anyone educated in any way who could threaten the fragile asylum that Israel has become. If Hamas is responsible for October 7, then doesn't that make Israel culpable for the losses sustained and the hostages taken? It all seems more like a simulacrum set up by the Israeli government to excuse itself from exterminating an entire nation of people. Israel's best friend, America, took part in the genocide of the Indigenous Americans just a couple of hundred years ago. No one told them to stop slaughtering and ostracizing the First Nations’ tribes.

The result is that the reservations have become some of the worst places in America to live, with the fewest amenities available to their citizens. Things we take entirely for granted, like laundromats, pharmacies, and grocery stores, can't afford to operate on the Res. Indigenous women are far more likely to meet their end at the hands of a serial abuser and/or sex trafficker than any other race of women. Now, this hell has come to Gaza, where the last reliable hospital has been completely demolished as of April 2025. No one knows where the people of Gaza will find adequate care. The dehumanization of Israel's "war" (read: extermination) will echo in time, and all will remember the fast-paced genocide of the Palestinians carried out by Queen Habibi Netanyahu for his base of wealthy, affluent oligarchs.

Domestic Affairs turned to Domestic Abuse

We have no stomach for the daft political chicanery of Roy Cohn's spray tan homunculus as he blathers incoherently for otherwise intelligent and reasonably exasperated journalists who are rightfully dispirited by the ubiquity of his lies and his casual use of factual inconsistencies as though his thought processes came from a micro-miniscule range of knowledge like Large Language Models. Maybe Peasant Chumpf has cybernetic AI implanted in his brain. Regardless, everyone is sick of hearing about and reporting on this Chumpf character by now.

He's been trying like hell to paw his way onto television since the 1970s. The Apprentice was his wet dream come true. Play CEO while not starving himself to death on set, thanks to the catering services that nourished him. It was all fake. He was nearly broke before that show started. It saved his Waste of a Devilish Caucasian life.

We will not abide the utter moral bankruptcy that threatens to relinquish public indemnity for working families (i.e., the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or CFPB that was proposed in 2007 by the mega-liberal Elizabeth Warren, one of few politicians we sincerely adore) and those abroad who starve while domestic farmer’s soybean crops rot on numerous docks thanks to rampant Federal cuts to USAID by the lecherous DOGEbags who, under executive authority, use all sorts of domineering leverage tactics to bully and beleaguer the civil servants who run these institutions.

Institutions critical to our domestic welfare and foreign charity programs have proven exceptionally effective at wrangling soft power from those we help.

The Republican majority in Congress doesn't lift a finger to stop the massive waves of expenditure cuts that have left over 200,000 Federal workers without a job since Roy Cohn's spray tan homunculus took office at the end of January.

When individuals who have benefited from generational wealth attempt to assert their intention to revitalize manufacturing within our nation, they do not envision us as technicians operating automated robotic assembly line machinery, receiving on-site training to make us competent workers. Instead, they imagine us drudging 50 to 60 hours a week constructing electronic components and assembling basketball sneakers for mere peanuts without the backing of a union.

Union labor is down to 10% of the workforce in this day and age. That's shameful. They got inside your heads, you fuckin simps. Made you think the Democrats were rich, evil reptilians who eat babies and have Deep State orgies with minors.

I heard Howard the Ducknick or Scott Bestaint say that laid-off federal workers will be the labor force needed to revitalize manufacturing in the States. Do you really think the talented, resourceful, and tech-savvy Federal workforce you just laid off want to work for pennies building mobile phones, toys, and hats, Mr. Ducknick?

Why don't you buy a factory and put your money where your mouth is? We all know why you'll never do that: this deal with tariffs is a scam to shake up the markets and make shares cheaper to monopolize for the wealthiest corporations, those with access to natural resource reserves, and luxury commerce developers. The latter of which Peasant Chumpf thinks he embodies. If there's ever a Riviera of the Middle East, it better be built by Arab inhabitants for Arab inhabitants. Period.

I don't see why we can't import products from countries whose economies are still developing or floundering. If the dollar is worth more over there, then we should be taking advantage of the cheap goods. That's how lots and lots of small businesses and work-from-home self-starters can provide their customers with merchandise at affordable prices. All of this bullshit with tactical tariffs imposed to get nations to negotiate (read: grovel) is idiotic and will be costly.

Peasant Chumpf thinks this is the Art of the Deal meets The Apprentice. No, you fucking festering assrot, this is our country you're fucking up. Our impossible-not-to-love country. We were beginning to get ahead, too, with self-generated income, small crypto returns, side gigs, and time management, all thanks to your predecessor, President Joe Biden, who brought us beneficial foreign relations and an economy that the eminent financial magazine The Economist called "The Envy of the World."

You fucked everything up for everyone, assrot. A few of your constituents still think this will be good for the country, but it won't take long for the regular schlep to start feeling the effects of your reckless manipulation of the global economic order.

China is the factory floor of the world. Why in the name of Sin would anyone want to emulate that in this arrogant, gluttonous nation? No one knows how to be a quiet cog in the machine. These sleazebags only pay 15% on their income. If we jacked it up to 35%, we could balance the budget and bring down a chunk of the principal on our national debt. Don't raise taxes on the poorest of us. Redistribute the wealth of the richest cocksuckers and we'll all live like kings in America. Now, that would make it “great.”

But they won't do that because all they understand is more multiplied by even more.

These intolerable cretins have never worked a day in their spoiled fucking lives, so before they unravel their master plan to disenfranchise the commonfolk more than we already are and erase our way of life, we will attack them with weaponized modalities from pitfall platforms on which they possess no leverage whatsoever.
